MKB2 IMPACT MICHAEL K BRYANT II
PORTLAND REGIONAL CULINARY INSTITUTE
PORTLAND, OR
Constructed long bars protrude outward through the (100 x 100) foot site interlocking with the surrounding building boundaries. The culinary institute will serve as a catalyst to the surrounding neighborhood helping in the revitalization efforts of the area by engaging with the street and blurring it’s boundaries. This building will help identify the neighborhood as a culinary and visual arts district within the larger context of Portland. Here is where culinary is exposed as an art and science form. Here is where students, faculty, and the general public interact and learn from one another about the culinary arts. Here is where producing, preparing, and consuming takes place all at once. The Portland Regional Culinary Institute interlocks both pysical and social boundaries.
